Those are also strong survivors of my last winter pond disaster. They are the smallest individuals of that batch of 20 Israeli koi. Except 2 equally small sanke all their bigger siblings (I guess) died. I bought them summer 2017 as tosai, and now they are only 35-40 cm. I think I have good material to make bon-sai koi!!
All were hariwake, but their color has been receding. The left is now completely white except a tiny red spot on its right eyelid, and the right still has a tiny light-brown spot on its shoulder:
By the way, what do you call completely white, former hariwake? Do they have an other name?
I am most concerned with confirmation. The right one has a short body, can it be called strong body? I personally like the confirmation of the middle one, which is probably a male.
I looked at their vent. My kid failed to take clear photos so I only can show the right oneŽs vent, and I guess it is a female:
What I am impressed is the difference in head form of the male (the middle one) and the female (the right one). The female has a much wider head than the male. I observed the same thing between my female sanke and male sanke. They are similarly long. Is it always so??
