      Algae growing on Koi

So I had a rough Spring with my pond here in the NE USA. A couple of my fish contracted a skin problem/parasite. I nuked my pond with potassium permanganate and it solved the initial problem. But now where the skin was raw algae is growing. Iíve left it alone thinking the algae was acting like a scab and protecting the wounds, and that as the skin grew back the algae would disappear. But Iím questioning that approach. Should I catch the fish and scrape off the algae? Could the algae be preventing the healing?

The fish are acting normal and eating well.

Mix some PP with water and apply the area with your hand and kinda scrub into it

Products like Proform C are a mixture of Formalin and Malachite Green. Malachite green is a great funguscide, and as such, I would use it for the three day treatment and see if that takes care of the fungus without catching and scraping the koi.
