I really can't tell much but the large patches of gray/green are probably sap (a fungus) which captures some algae giving it the greenish color. For this I would start with some Proform C or similar as the malachite green is an excellent fungicide. After the Tricide Neo arrives, I would give the fish three days of treatment with that to assure any infection is cured so the fish can heal.

Thanks. They have already had 4 treatments (one per day, consecutive) of the BSDT which from my understanding is the same as Proform C. That definitely helped the other three and maybe this guy as well but he just has a lot more to cone back from. I didn’t want to overdose them so I have given them two days off but maybe it would be a good idea to pick back up with another round of BSDT treatments until the tricide neo gets here? I just wasn’t sure how much is too much with the BSDT.

If they have had 4 treatments, then I would wait for the Tricide Neo to come in. The topical treatment with the Tricide Neo will probably remove most of the fungus as you rub it in.

Oh, from what I can tell the Tricide Neo powder is usually used as a 5 minute dip. You think I should apply it directly to the affected areas?

It has shown to be very effective applied directly to the affected areas with a Q-Tip and in some cases using the fishes slime coat as a carrier, or in other cases using Silvadene Burn Ointment as the carrier.

I use Tricide via direct application method.

Sedate the fish (if you need instructions, they are in our files on this forum)
Put a little Tricide powder in a pile on top of a baggie/piece of plastic wrap (don't dip into the package - avoid getting the main envelope of product wet)
Take a qtip and get it wet with the fish's slime coat....dip it in the pile of powder
Gently "work" it into the red areas, creating a paste out of the powder and slime coat. It will goop up on the qtip so just keep kind of wiping it back on the fish
Leave it on for 3ish minutes (feels like eternity lol)
Wipe it off gently and return koi to pond/QT and revive

I like direct application because, with rare exception, it is "one and done".

Reseal your tricide well...don't let it get wet in the package. Put it in a ziploc and store in the freezer.

Okay, might be time to move on to another phase of treatment here. My koi who was looking the worst, who I was planning on treating with the Tricide Neo, died a day before the Tricide arrived. So time to switch focus.

I have three remaining koi. Two are mostly looking and acting normal. One is spending most time resting on bottom but will come up to eat a little. He had been occasionally flashing but now today is flashing more. He has some red patches on tail fin, tail fin a little torn up l, and has little pustules/pimples on the tail fin. Also has a pinkish hue to entire pectoral fin. I repeated the series of BSDT treatments this weekend - today will be the fourth consecutive treatment day. I did a four day course last weekend as well.

So, I have the Tricide Neo, but this fish does not show any ulcers or fuzzy growth, so not sure that is still the right treatment here. Should I consider PP treatment for the pond?

I would like to see a picture of the tail of the affected fish. The pustules/pimples may be encysted anchor worm larva, but would need to see the picture to be sure. For that, treatment would be Dimilin. The reddish color to the fins and erosion of fins would indicate potentially a bacterial infection, and the Tricide Neo would be the preferred treatment. Really would like to see pictures of the affected areas to be sure.
