I know it's not much but......

My Bakki Shower is finally done! I've had everything but the pipe/tubing forever because I couldn't find a matching fit but my Boyfriend was like "Why don't you use the old pump hoses that came with the pools? They fit fine". And so, 5 minutes later he had it up and running. It's not much but I like the ease of use, simplicity and ability to move it if I want.

I love the ingenuity and your imagination, however I have to give you a heads up, those pool hoses have zero uv protection so plan for replacement in a while. Hate to see you come home one day and have you find the pond empty because one of the hoses sprung a leak.

They definitely have a limited lifespan but they will work for now I do have everything zip tied for extra safety at this point (I have to get a few more ties though) and the pump is off the bottom about 5 or so inches that way if something does go wrong, it won't drain the pond. I secured the shelf to the pool frame too Not pretty but functional

And thank you for the compliment!

Great job! I have put a couple of those shelving units together.

Just a heads up, it isn't a Bakki Shower unless you are using Bakki House media which is manufactured by Momotaro Koi Farm. I honestly don't care what people put in their trickle/shower filters but it would be nice to see a shower filter that is a shower filter and not called a Bakki Shower filter.
Not all cars are Ferraris, not all showers are Bakki. How it became the default name for any shower filter is a mystery to me.
Still learning as I go but y'all can call me Marilyn

Thank you! I had no idea about the difference between the two and most of the videos mislabled them just like you said. I will look up the Bakki Media because I also want to add either another bin or possibly a small Bog leaning towards a Bog at this point but I change my mind a lot as I learn

Is the pump pickup located under the shower filter?

If yes... wouldn't the pump be better on the other side of the pool?

Probably I think we still have an extra section of hose or two so I can add those and move it today

I was able to extend the pump a few feet further away from the Shower but not much. It's a solids-handling pump but to be on the safe side I put a small homemade filter canister at the end with some Blue Matala. So far it's working like a dream, and I pulled the bottom pan out to rinse the Koi padding and it's just stoopid easy to do everything I need to do And my Goldfish spawned today. I had put the female in Super Max because the boys were beating her up and I ended up with eggs stuck to the net. I put the whole net into a plant that's inside a laundry basket, I have no idea if they will hatch but they are safe in that pond if they do

Cleaned up most of the Algae on the bottom, a little more tidying up tomorrow will get the rest. I love the setup so much I'm going to do one in Super Max too instead of just the Fountain pump. I have noticed a couple of Koi with spots that need further inspection so I'm going to net and scrape a few plus get pictures. I wouldn't be surprised if I have Costia or something similar just because the old filter box system wasn't meant to handle this many fish and even though I cleaned it every day it just wasn't enough so there's a good chance I have some yuckies. I have Pafurazine and Praziquantel but I think I will need to get the Formaline/Malachite mixture. I'm not really sure because I don't know what they have and I don't know much about the treatments either.
