      Bakkii Shower Concept

I have been reading and watching Nguyen365 bakkii shower build and mods. I am too building my own bakkii shower.

My space is limited as to many to where my bakkii shower can be. I was looking into the SS bakkie showers but little out the price range. As of many, I want something that will last. In looking at the SS version, it reminded of a truck bed tool box except made out of the aluminum. The truck bed tool box are decently long, nice depth, and the width works for my space. I might be able to do two or three layers. My media will be small feather rock boulders. I can find used tool boxes for $70 in good shape in STL.

The only concern is the aluminum reacting with the water affecting the koi's health. Seems like if the ph is maintain at a normal level, the aluminum will not affect the water conditions.

Let me know your thoughts. Greatly appreciated

I asked a similar question in this thread:

I decided to have my tank powdercoated with a food safe colour that is a nice black - it is actually being delivered today!

The Home Depot black HDX tubs are cheap and UV resistant (the yellow lids are not UV resistant )
They come in many sizes , and if You plan to move or make changes to the shower later, get multiple smaller tubs instead of one or more big tubs, as smaller tubs filled with media are quite a bit lighter.
If stacking them , don’t use the lids to support them. An inside frame made from PVC will better support stacked tubs .

A layer of grating like bread racks or dog kennel grating between each tub will increase its strength.

If the black tubs don’t meet Your standards, there are some great fiberglass tubs that cost more , but are still reasonable for DIY.
They also come in many sizes , are much stronger , and are self supporting in that no rack is needed .

I used these stackable totes made by Quantum.

Then dressed them up with some faux plant panels

How do the faux panel attach or do you build in a box around it?

Each panel is about 20x20" and they interlock with each other at all corners. I simply zip-tied them at the very top and let them hang down.

I bought the straight wall stackable bins similar to jcardona1 (might have been him who referred to the site initially LOL). They seem sturdy enough

I have the straight wall as well and will be adding to the new pond soon.

Thank for the info on how to attach! I love that look.
