# 46 has arrived and it didn't disappoint![]()
Yes, very nice indeed! I think we'll all need to pitch in and buy you a new pair of sunglasses. Too much bling is tough on the eyes
Can you share where you got this beauty? I'm assuming that's where the #46 reference came from, right? Male or female....looks female, but I'm usually wrong![]()
#46, was the assigned to this koi when it arrived, I decide whether its going to stay or if it's born here and it makes the grade too stay on my notebook and this it's from Oofuchi coming thru Pan IntercorpI did miss one part of your question

Sorry, I still can't tell if its male of female.
Kinda like looking at the sun...not much you can tell other than it's really bright.
Are you adding him to the mix this spring, or are you going to just evaluate him for a season?
I look forward to seeing the outcome of this paring. Best of luck this season!
Preparations are getting underway, like new sponge filters they have to be ready to perform when needed that's where some people make their errors as to not having their filters properly cicled at the moment they are needed and that process starts for me 6 weeks before the spawn date. Now here's the new addition #46 with the male's as he joined #28 in the male tank you will see the difference in size and I have decided to call them David and Goliath ![]()

Koiphen 2023 Koi Person of the Year!
Massive size difference for sure. I guess you never know for sure until you see gin rin in the babies. Good luck this season!
They look great. David will really be something when he gets closer to Goliath's size.
I have suspected ginrins might tend to grow a little smaller just based on personal experience. But I have couple that are pretty large.
Perhaps an ochiba will have an advantage due to variety, as chagoi and soragoi tend to grow larger than most varieties, something that I have see in my ochiba (non-ginrin) also.
