You have to sell your house to get Sanke like those.
people like to vehemently defend their purchases and find it incredulous that anything could be better

They have reverse mortgages now, so you can stay in your house and enjoy the fish.

Sanke will do for now. The flood took away a whole generation of Momotaro showa. There is a showa drought right now.

Sheesh, there's some serious Sanke bashing going on in here lol jk

I'm 100% confident I couldn't afford nor would I trust myself with any one of these high quality whales. Nothing quite beats the sight of a Sanke in its prime, though Showa's come close imo.

      Sakai sanke tosai

I'm fortunate to have acquired these female tosai from a dealer which were reasonable priced because they have slight imperfections on one of the ventral fins. They were 5 to 6 inches, now about 13 inches . I have high hopes for the smaller sanke, lol .

Nice sanke but were the photos touched?

One of my implied point was that SFF has got sanke bloodline down. They can produce high quality sanke with big frame, dark sumi, and bright red beni at will. Other sanke breeders are chasing from a distance.

These phone photos, by default, are altered to pop out more. The algorithm smooths the skin and exaggerates red/green/black. Sumi looks funny but not your fault. Women love it when they look 15 years younger in selfies.

Technically speaking everything from a cell phone to a DSLR is applying its own post-processing algorithm when it gives you a compressed JPG in point-n-shoot-format, even the device used to record the Youtube videos you shared. I don't see any color boosting apparent in the cell phone pictures posted above however the contrast is definitely too high and the white balance is off in several of the photos.
