      Some koi´s body confirmation only

      Hello friends:

I happen to have clear pictures on some mutts. I know I should have used a blue tube and the fish should be in a position with head downward. But they are the best I can get right now.

I am not asking how good they are (I am lucky if they are of better pond grade), but I am interested in know more about confirmation. I wonder if you could tell me if my comments make sense.

Firstly tail tube: I guess weak tail tube means thin tail shaft while strong tail tube means thick tail shaft? If yes then little yellow koi has weak tail tube, so does the orange koi. The bekko has the strongest tail tube here.

General confirmation except tail tube: I guess that the perfect stream-lined shape is best.

Then the body of the doitsu kohaku (?) with black dots is too short (its gill plates are deformed), the doitsu white koi´s body is also too short. The bekko has best confirmation and the ginrin kohaku´s confirmation is also OK (though the hi is fading).

      Thanks for your comments!

For starters the Beni kimunryu not shure if the later is spelled correctly is going to be your surprise koi It will change every year for a while and it's not bad for pond koi nice find. Its the one with the black nose and a hint of Beni on the left side.

All of the doitsu have short and American football like body. That's very typical for lower grade doitsu. The small ogan is also short with a small tail. The one with the best body is the bekko, a neat looking fish. What you look for is smooth transition from head to body and body to tail. The large orange/ogan has a small head and a tail that is on the weak side.

I'd vote best body is the GR Kohaku.
The Bekko? looks pretty robust but theres something odd which I can't put my finger on...

Also keep an eye on the orange ogon - the eyes are bulging a bit.

You have sharp eyes! I later noticed that the bekko has a too small head. So the GR kohaku has the best confirmation indeed. Pity that the beni is receding!

The orange koi´s eyes seem to be less protruding now.
