Amazing.
They do look very nice
not sure about xmas...although probably sometime in the future will have a 200gal+ dt.
lps is great but im slowly getting into sps and it seems like a completely different animal. learning curves stink.
im doing ok with beginner sps but i just bought a few cheaper acros to see how they hold up. fingers crossed
Addiction starting to get stronger...
You're doing great with your corals. For SPS you just need to place them higher in your tank to make sure they get enough light. Then just keep up with your magnesium, alk, calcium and water changes and they'll do great.
Nice little tank! Salifert is a very high quality brand for test kits, and reasonably priced. Do not use API. I was in reef keeping for 20 years and have had tanks between 5 and 300 gallons and I've never seen a skimmer for a small tank work. As others have said, water changes will suffice and if you do them weekly with a good quality salt like reef crystals, it should supply enough CA, ALK and MG especially with mostly LPS. You could get away without dosing for a long time Check out reefcentral, there's a wealth of info there, literally 21 years worth. Have fun and if you have any questions feel free to pm me before you buy!
Sps will spend a lot of time spreading the base onto whatever they're attached to before they start to branch out and grow larger. Especially if the frag/mariculture is getting knocked around by water movement or snails/shrimp. Literally like watching grass grow...but slower lol. Montiporas are a nice, easy, fast growing genus of sps to check out. Check out dragons breath macro algae also. Grows really well, beautiful, gets crazy orange tips under high light and people are always looking for frags. Ships well through usps priority and its a good way to fund your frag purchases.

Very nice! You have good taste. Getting jealous... Does your lfs have decent selection/prices?
Really depends on where you are. Last time I had a tank we lived in Florida, 1.5 hours from World Wide Corals. Buying straight from them is crazy expensive though. Definitely cheaper from other reefers. One of your posts in here mentioned phosphates. Not sure if they're in check now but excessive phosphate will kill color FAST. Hanna makes a good phosphate checker. They actually make two models, only one of which is desirable for reef keeping.
