I do apologize for the bad pictures. The sun was half up and half down so it was hard to capture the correct exposure...lol.

So I got fish number 3, mainly because of its facial pattern but didnít care much of its body pattern. The dealer said itís a good learning fish for me (I didnít ask why, so is it?). I asked him about the speckles on its skin and he said they are the developing sumi (Or shimi? I either misheard or forgot! But I hope itís sumi). Would be terrible if they were shimi. Either way he said itís a good learning fish so for $80 I got it...the rest I considered are ďsafer and more traditionalĒ of a gamble but I personally like more shiroji on Showa.

But what are those tiny speckles on its skin? I am excited but yet anxious to see how this fish will develop!

You will definitely learn about sumi with this koi I agree it will be a good one to learn from bowl every 6 months and post a picture.

I am anxious how this will develop...back end looks very messy. Looked up everywhere I could find out what those tiny speckles are. On top of that I also couldn’t find a developed Showa bad enough to have that many speckles...I don’t think it will be that bad right?

      Will do.

Is anyone familiar with Suda showa bloodline? What size or body shape should I expect out of this little fella?
