Whatever happened to the build thread that was being done in Singapore ( I think ) , where the form work was incredibly complex , and the pond was being built in a tight space between existing buildings ? The owner was working with architects to design the structures . Certainly one of the most complex builds we have ever had on our site.
I don't remember seeing any updates in months....
Work has been slow. The coronavirus situation caused some manpower issues for me as the local construction industry is very dependent on Chinese labor. Many workers went home for their New Year break and could not return due to the quarantine.
I will provide updates in the build thread when I have some pond meat to show. Not too much has changed since the last photo, unless you are interested in what we've been doing with the rest of the house
I just finalized the order for the 2 drum filters last week. They, and the pond control system are made by Senect, a German aquaculture outfit. Massive monsters, each with a 80cm diameter x 100cm length drum. They're being built right now, and will be coming over here by sea freight.
The control units are commercial grade, with plug in pH and temperature sensors with active logging, and facilities to trigger email and sms alerts. They'll be the heart of the pond, responsible for topping off water consumed by flushing and evacuating the waste sump chamber on top of running a RDF.
The pond to be honest is not on the priority list of to-do items as we need to sort out the rest of the house first.
This is why it's gone so long without much progress.
The pond finishing work is planned for the tail end of the project. This isn't a bad thing, since the poured concrete will have had many months to settle down nicely. Going through the rainy season also allowed us to spot and fix some leaky spots.
