Bigger the female, more eggs, biggers which means bigger fry?

They got moved yesterday so I took some group pictures.
Wow look at those utsuri .
Like I said needed to see them up close, enjoy
They are looking good Orlando. To me, young shiro utsuri seem so hard to predict. Their sumi can change drastically in just a short time.
Very true. Also, it seems to me that in young showa or utsuri, the strength of their sumi can be quickly affected by "stress" for lack of a better word. I say that because it seems like their sumi intensity looks good in the nursury pond or tub, but when you net them to take a closer look, the sumi fades. It strengthens again a few minutes after you put them back in the tub or pond. Something I have to remember to be very careful to keep in mind during selection.
Just curious:
What are you going to do with all those fry that are not good enough for you to keep, but still decent? Those must be 100:s!
Good morning SimonW, I know a person that owns his water feature/Pond maintenance business and we barder; he gets my 1st and 2nd culls we agree on a price and when am running low on koi food I pick up the phone and ask him to order me a 40lb bag of koi food. This year because of the circumstances we all are facing I had him order 4 bags all at once it's interesting to see what 120lbs of koi food look like in the refrigerator in 1 gallon plastic bags. I also keep about 120 to sell at the CFKS at 10.00 ea those being 3rd cull and the top 20% to sell between 20.00 to 50.00 ea and I get to select witch ones I will keep for future breeder's that # has never exceeded 4, from last year's I only kept one from my Sanke spawn and 3 from my Goshiki spawn from this experimental spawn the plan was on keeping 2 Shiro Utsuri males and 2 Showa males but there are a couple of females that I will keep to grow on a second year, excellent conformation with great skin and the Sumi is first class I know that's a little more information than what you asked for but other's are asking also thru email so I figured i would post the information so they can read for themselves.
