Here are a few more pictures I took yesterday these little fellas are growing very fast I will take the time to bowl them in a few weeks, my original plan was to try to produce two Shiro males but by the looks I might be able to get two Showa males also therefore giving me the opportunity by accident to persue a new projectName: 20191203_100906.jpg

Could you tell us how big the pond/tank you are raising them in is? What are you using for filtration and food? The results look great so far. Looking forward to updates please!

Am really thankful for the weather we been having I was very concern at the beginning if the weather would hold up for this spawn to be hard enough to get thru the colder months.Name: 20191216_092849.jpg

Well I had to clean the tank and remove much of the green matter that had been accumulating on the bottom that's one of the drawbacks of doing it the old fashion way but I don't mind having to do this kinda maintenance I call it therapy. Let's get a closer look at some of these fellas.Name: 20200115_132500.jpg

Some of those Showas aren't looking to shabby here's my favorite so far but remember the goal here was to produce two male Shiros so the unexpected Showas are a new avenue to pursue in the futureName: 20200115_132237.jpg

Looks like you have some good prospects for both.

If you are asking how old the parent koi from this spawn are the female is pushing 16 yrs and the males are 3 and 6, but I think your question is how old should koi be before spawning I like for the koi to be atleast 3yrs old males and females but I have had exceptions with males that I have used that were 2yrs old.
