Went to feed this morning and I noticed Carla has redness around her mouth. Any ideas. I swear it wasn't there yesterday. Any ideas? She's in good spirits and eating. No flashing that I notice.

Either as they are edges. It didn’t show up in fleshier areas but untreated can affect them.
I haven’t seen it on any koi I owned for years. I dealt with it in my pond and at the first couple of years and infrequently.
The feedback I got at the time was that it was not uncommon for newer ponds, particularly during aeromonas alley.
It took 23 days for her to heal on her own at 55F. I think the infection started because she got exposed to brown water the day before when pulled out my skimmer mat for cleaning as it was getting pretty clogged. Next time I should vacuum most of the sludge out before pulling out this mat. Typically cleaning my skimmer mat present no problem but bad luck this time. This koi skin is so sensitive. Being farther from it's carp origin I think she is more prone; that and the fact that she doesn't know how to flash to get rid of parasites. I hope that make sense. I mean my two solid colour koi that know how to flash hardly gets skin problems lol.
