I'm still new but in my very limited experience, this looks like a really nice Koi. It has super deep Beni and good Kiwa. The body appears nice as well but maybe a little short in the tail tube
The skin is good. Beni stretched with growth but still looks thick. That's a good sign.
Depends on what you like. Some might think the fish is proportionally short. Others might prefer bulky fish like this. I personally want my nisai to be have a more streamlined look.
I don't think its short...it may look short due to its bulk and the head not keeping up with the body.
I'm no expert but I don't remember hasegawa producing such bulky fish...I would've guessed SFF. I actually haven't seen hasegawa fish in a long time...
The wrapping beni is interesting - I've read that jumbo type fish, the beni pattern should stay above the lateral line but this might just be preference.
The skin on the head may be a little thin but overall I think its a really nice fish.
I don't think this fish is short either. As a 50cm nisai, it is still a young fish. It might be the bloodline but the bulk seems to have developed relatively early.
this is a beautiful fish. A lot is riding on the consolidation of the kiwa and sashi between the first 2 beni plates. If that finishes clean, the fish will look powerful and refined. If not, powerful and unrefined. It ticks the major boxes. good conformation, good quality, good pattern.
Beautiful. Body, beni & shiroji all look good. I saw Mr. Hasagawa and his ponds about 10 days ago when I was in Ojiya. I was very impressed with the quality of his fish.
