      Question Winter Feeding of Ryukins

I bought a 40/50# bag of Microbial Lift Staple Koi food this summer. It is very tiny pellets.
I have quite a bit left. I am going to move my Ryukins into the garage this weekend. They
normally eat Omega One goldfish food (sinking)..do you think it would be okay to give them
the Koi staple food? It is not sinking but they do skim the top when I give them shrimp and
      bloodworms.
      Appreciate your advise...

I wonder if it would give them a floating bladder?

I only feed sinking food because of bloat issues.

I have Ryukins, and have had several over the years. They never get swim bladder. Haven't had even one get that issue. I don't feed Koi food but I feed a combo of sinking and floating foods. As long as you don't feed a lot, the Koi food should not harm them.

I have had ryukins and orandas in my ponds and they always ate the koi food.

I would just soak it till soft. In my ponds they food generally got soft before the fantails finished eating.

I always ended up having fish with bladder issues if I had them very long.
