A showa is a showa; but if there isn't any beni on the head, it's not a great showa. Is this true? That's what I was told. Need clarification.

If that is how you feel about it then it is true. It isn't necessarily true though.

Seriously, you think Google is an important source for Koi, I am sorry to hear this. Where did I ever say I have the money to travel. I am a Koi dealer and go to Japan 3 times a year to buy thousands of Koi and learn about Koi from the best breeders in the world. I am surprised you think learning from breeders in Japan is limiting my knowledge. Most people think it is just the opposite. You don't need Google when you know breeders.

Lol. Wait until end of day. If he cant sell it, he'll be more likely to lower price to be sold out. or get a better deal by offering to buy more than one at a discounted price

If your not planning on showing it, why does it matter anyone else's opinion on what is a good trait vs. bad trait, etc. Your the one who has to name it, love it enough to put the time in to keep it alive, and stare at it for the next 10-20 years...I personally have spent more money on fish that i have been "told" are higher quality koi, and 75% of the prettiest (to me) koi i have, cost a quarter of the price...

I understand what you’re saying and I completely agree. I just want to learn and see the opinions of others.
