Sorry. I thought it would copy the picture. That Tancho Shiro is beautiful and it looks like it has the really nice scales but I can't remember what they are called.
Any reason why my ochiba (copper/gray) is turning now on a dark brown and gray koi?
The beauty of the copper is gone now.

That's what they tend to do, it's normal to get darker.
I thought they do tend to get darker in general as they age. I could be wrong.
Nice ochiba!
I have its brother:
Let me give some comments in comparison to his brother - my dear ochiba:
Similar confirmation, so I guess that it is a male?
Your ochiba has better scalation than mine, but mine has better pattern on the head.
Mine has a much lighter color when it was held indoors over the winter. In the summer in the out-door pond it is much better looking as it turns darker.
Chagoi, Ochibas... tend to get darker in warmer weather. They should be lighter in winter//spring.
From my experience in my pond, Soragoi/Chagoi/Ochiba get very dark in the summer. Fall/winter their colors are much lighter. My Soragoi is a very deep blue-gray this time of year and in the winter it's a pale yellowish-gray color.
