Are these Kage Shiro or just "Bake"?

These are all very cheap Otsuka tosai but are they Kage Shiro Utsuri or Matsukawabake? All of them have blue skin which I've never seen on Shiro Utsuri, but have seen on Matsukawabake/Kumonryu tosai. However the sumi looks like it's wrapping around the body, rather than a lateral pattern. I also see some with Asagi hi around the belly, but have seen "Bake" with secondary coloration as well...

I'm in love with the Kage Shiro but will the Asagi reticulation come out later on these, even though it's not evident currently? Or should I just wait until I see something better?lol

These koi are way to underdeveloped to be able to make assessments as to whether they will exhibit cage sumi. Maybe if the breeder could give you an indicator that would help, you should know in a year or two.

I think you misinterpreted my question. I was asking whether they were a certain breed and not if they will develop kage sumi or not.

A Kage Shiro Utsuri is a Shiro Utsuri that has Asagi reticulation along it's back. They sometimes come out from Shiro Utsuri spawns but Otsuka-san really has improved them by actually crossing Asagi blood into them. The downside is that they often have secondary hi, which you don't want just like a regular SU. The only other breeder that I know of who actually produces Kage Shiro is Hosokai Koi Farm.

Anyways...I've just never seen them so tiny so wasn't sure if these were actually what I'm hoping they are.

The lack of feedback on this thread is a little disappointing, although understandable as these guys aren't a common variety to come across...
But nobody here has experience with Kage Shiro Utsuri?

Here are a few more that I bowled today which again, I'm not sure whether they're Kage Shiro or Matsukawabake...

And these 3 I'm positive they're Kage Shiro but too bad they have a whole lot of the secondary "Asagi" beni...except for the last one still in QT that actually looks like it's displaying kado gin

It is more than likely that the first two are Goshiki Showa rather than Kage Shiro with secondary Beni. I picked up several of these from Hosokai in April.

people like to vehemently defend their purchases and find it incredulous that anything could be better
