      Progression pics (before and after)

I have 2 progression pics. 1st koi is a KURO GOSHIKI. 1st pic was at 7" last year. The new one is at 12" (1yr later).
You can see that the sumi is starting to get black which is what i was hoping for however the gin rin is not as nice as i expected it woul be.

The 2nd koi is a showa from 2yrs ago at 10". New pics are at 17". Original pic shows the hi anice deep red but now its much lighter and has a orange red color. The sumi hasnt changed to much.

I think it’s common for ginrin to become less dazzling as a koi ages... unless you pay alot more.
The goshiki has a very good pattern and good body lines. It’s probably a male.
Showa looks like a female. Her pattern got a bit messy which surprises me since it looked pretty clean as a tosai.
That said, you’ve brought them along nicely. Enjoy them!

Yea im surprised too. I really thought she (yes the showa is a she) would of had a really nice deep beni pattern as she aged but i agree its not what it should be.. I liked that it wasn't a traditional showa pattern..
I jave hope that the goshiki will be a nice fish once the sumi gets darker and fills in.
