Is your Ultima II filter within 3 feet of your pump?

Trying to layout plumbing for some changes to our filtration (adding a Zakki sieve). We have an Ultima II 4000 pressure filter. The manual says it must be installed within 3 feet of the pump. I have no idea why, but it is a bit limiting as far as equipment layout in my shed. Is anyone running with an Ultima II filter more than 3 feet from their pump? If so, any issues?

I have about 5’ of pipe before mine. It’s the least I could do in my filter pit. Just make sure you use the minimum on elbows or 45s. Long sweep elbows are best to reduce friction. Mine works fine this way.

      I am with-in 4 ft.
Also have a swing style, spring loaded check valve in the horizontal position. It helps with priming the pump. Maybe at least install the check valve closer to the pump, if your going far.

I think in the setup diagram it says the height difference between pump and filter can't be more than 3' iirc.
