      Pipe liner penetration for skimmer

I've been trying to determine a good skimmer setup. Our pond has 1.5-2' above ground and because of the design a traditional skimmer box won't work. At the least I'll need to do a remote skimmer box. I have 2 questions...

1.) How do you run a penetrate the liner with PVC pipe?
2.) Do they sell weir doors that attach to traditional PVC pipes? Or is this traditionally done in the skimmer box?

I think if you're using a hpdm liner that will stretch, a pipe boot is an easy way to make a penetration through the liner.

I guess a weir door design attached to a pvc pipe would be a no niche type skimmer:

This one in my pond is attached to a 3" pipe and goes through the liner using the above pipe boot type penetration.
Has worked great for 10+ years.
