I know not a great fish but if you classified this what would it be?
I'm not sure what it is, I'm still super new, but I love it!
I want to say it's a goshiki.
Very interesting looking fish!
Who's the breeder?
Koda Koi Farm brought one that looks just like it to Genki's event this Spring. They called it an "Asagi Goshiki"...which I thought was an odd name considering the history of this variety. Anyways I've never seen a Goshiki that had Asagi reticulation that was this distinct. I'm very curious to see how it'll develop in US waters. I take you have hard water?
I do have hard water but that was taken before it ended up in my water. The breeder is a local that had an accidental flock spawn. The majority turned out looking asagi. I actually got 2 from him that looked like this to see what they turn into. May be a mess in the end or may turn out looking great. I just couldnt find a good picture of the second one. This was the best I had of the 2 together.

Do you by any chance know what the breeders used as parents?
I think I like the smaller one in the bowl. Please hold onto it and see how it develops!
I have no idea where the original stock came from I know they were all imports. This was a flock unexpected spawn in a persons show pond. He used to do koi shows with several of his koi and I could probably find out the original breeder of the parents of these. I liked them and wanted the smaller one but the larger one was caught first so I took both. I also got a Asagi from the spawn that I got for my other half he is the fan of asagi, me not so much.
