You can use an 5 gallon bucket with a sieve and leave it inside a 55g barrel
By I’m not sure how fast you can flow for settling
Possible 1500gph for effectiveness in a 55g barrel though
I’m showing my bucket in a 200gallons chamber but with way more flow

Not a true sieve but I made one that had a 4" pipe coming up through the center and a 5" pipe that could
      adjust with the flow:

Thanks everyone! @Nguyen365 your set up is kind of what I was thinking. But what I am wondering is, my filtrations is all above ground. Would I have to add another pump to get the water into the barrel and then pull the water from the bottom of the barrel with my external pump to my filter right? I will try to get some pictures later when I can.
