Question on placing tank on the floor.

This last California earthquake got me to thinking about my 125 gallon fish tank. It's set on the cheapo Petsmart stand it came with and I feel I'm pushing my luck.

Can I put the tank flat on the floor ? Should I put it on a large piece of water resistant plywood?

I wouldn't mind putting it on a foot high stand. Any suggestions for the design?

Please let me know what you think. Thanks! Kim

My grandmother has very expensive antique furniture and secures everything to the wall. U can put a hook in the wall and fasten the stand to the wall or in your case just drill through the stand and into a stud in wall. If still concerned you could secure the tank to the wall with some sort of hook on the tank
