      Please critique Gin Rin Soragoi

These aren't my pictures but I will get some next month when it arrives. It's from Ikarashi, I've never heard of them before today so I don't know what to expect on how this fish will mature. It's 6.5" currently and I hope it ends up being female.

Did I put these in the wrong section? Do they need to be moved to the Mutt Critique thread? I'm too new to know the difference.

Lol I’ll keep you company ...

Is this a true soragoi? The head looks to be a different color or just lacking pigment.
Very nice GR although the tail looks a bit short. It has a strong front half and a very weak back half.

Every one always hopes a 6" Tosai will become female. The odds are very much against it though. It doesn't look, from the pictures, to be a Soragoi.

It was listed as a Soragoi but I'm too new to know if it is or not. What do y'all think it is? I got it because of the sparkly Gin Rin and it has a nice head. I'm trying to learn how to tell if a tail tube is good but it's not as easy as heads for some reason. Thank you for the input and I'd love to know what it is.

Maybe you should post the fish before you buy it. You can’t expect to know the things you are trying to learn without looking at 1000’s of Koi. Even then, most still don’t see it.

That's a good idea. I'm already committed to this one but I will start posting them beforehand from now on. Please keep an eye out for some solid Gin Rins for me next time you go to Japan Tosai if possible. I'm having the worst time finding these fish :/

My unSoragoi came in! I sprang for the cutest little Asagi and actually like it more than the unSoragoi.
