I feel dumb asking about this but how do i change out a uv sleee?

I opened up my Jebao 36 watt UV only to find out the quartz sleeve is broken. I ordered a new one but how to i get it to go into the unit? It wont fit in the hole where you insert the bulb on the side. Please help!

I've never owned one but if this is the model you're using, it says the sleeve is a "sealed unit" that needs to be ordered
along with the "sub assembly"... so it sounds like it needs to be replaced as a single unit.

It's listed under "Cleaning The Quartz Sleeve" on page 2.

I own two of these exact same UV units, and one came with a broken sleeve for me too.

      1. It's easy to replace, unscrew the top and remove the bulb.
      2. You may need a flat head screw driver for this next part, or possibly just your fingernails. The top of the quartz sleeve has some indents on it along the plastic body, you just have to pry it loose from the plastic body at these indents. You should try prying or pulling from two on opposite sides at the same time. It's really sticky so you will have to pull pretty hard.
      3. Once you get the top of the quartz sleeve out of the plastic body you're gonna have to spend some time getting all the broken glass out. Mine had chunks hung up in the inlets that were a pain to get out. When you think you have it all out give it a good shake and make sure you don't hear any shards rattling around in there.
      4. Press in the new quartz sleeve, you'll have to push pretty hard to get it in the last couple of inches because of the sealer on the sleeve.
      5. Insert the bulb (make sure it has the spacer on the bottom still) and screw the top back on.
      6. All done.
