This is an 18 inch Kikusui.

I have the hardest time keeping the hi on a kikusui overtime. Them and beni kumonryu's really don't seem to hold up well in my pond. I recently switched to only dainichi food in hopes to keep the Hi in my Koi. We will see!

This is a nice example of a Kikusui. Decent body for this type, nice Hikari and an appealing pattern. Patterns are often subpar on this type.

Don't feel badly about yours losing beni. This variety commonly loses beni, I'm not quite sure why.
For that reason, it's a type I would not spend a lot of money on as they are a gamble. Hopefully your Dainichi food helps.
Still learning as I go but y'all can call me Marilyn

Yeah I used to have a very nice Kikusui with an even better pattern and a super deep Beni, but it turned completely white over time . Kikusuis are one of my favorite types if they have a nice body shape, but they are just so difficult to maintain.
