I believe that it is the Saracenia (Pitcher Plant) flower! Where did you find it?

It's not a Saracenia but I do have one of those.

I agree. I can see the pitchers of a white topped Sarracenia variety in the photo. The ones I have open with delicate little petals that fall away after a while, mine don't have the green dots underneath. Very nice!

Oh my, it would be impossible for me to know. There are MANY species and hybrid Sarracenias. Maybe the friend that shared the plant with you would have the exact name for it. I acquired the white topped pitcher plant I have in a trade years ago and I don't know if it is a species or a hybrid. I just enjoy it!

I'm not asking about the Sarracenia. The one with the green dots is the one in question.

The one with the green dots in the foreground is the bloom of a Sarrencenia after it has dropped it's petals. The blooms on my plants persist for weeks with this appearance after the petals have fallen. I have several varieties that have different pitcher structure/shape and they all have the same flower structure. Have you done a search on Sarrencenia bloom? I'm curious why you think that it is not?

I'm sorry! I know nothing about them. I thought they were two different plants.

      Saracenia

I hope I'm attaching this photo correctly. This is the Saracenia I discovered last year on my birthday. I was totally enamored with it (unfortunately, I don't think I wintered it properly and now it's pretty bald but that's for another time). So you can see that tall "flower" among the awesome "pitchers". I also thought that was a different plant! But it turns out that is where the seeds come from (or so I've read). Barely know much more about it but was actually wondering if anyone has any Saracenia seeds to share as mine is looking really pathetic now and I miss how wondrous it was!
