      Window thickness

      Hi all hope this is in the right section
      I'm going to start my pond build and am wanting to install a viewing window how ever am unsure on the thickness I would need the pond is going to be 9ftx5ft and 6ft deep 3ft above ground and 3ft below window size I'm hoping to have is 5ftx2ft I have found some aycrlic at 30mm thick do you think this would hold the pressure

      Mine is 3’ above and 3’ below like yours. 10x18’ dimensions. Don’t use acrylic it scratches too easy you’ll need 3 pieces of tempered 1/2” glass laminated together. Any glass shop should be able to make it for you.

      So pretty much I would need it to be 40mm that's one thick piece of glass do you have a window in your pond also

      Has anyone used the company aurello for glass they do some 39mm glass and for a 5ftx2ft quote is 421gbp does this seem like the right sort of price

      Also I forgot to say when I asked the thickness that I need I forgot to mention that it's an inefty style window that I'm fitting so as it's only going to be holding have the top 2 foot of water would it still need to be that thick
