fellow gardeners!
I started this garden from a bulldozed lot over 30 yrs. ago. It was a long-held dream to have an English-style country garden and after two gardens that were handicapped by too much shade, i found this poor old house on a bulldozed lot, facing SOUTH, went to the UK with a guidebook in hand, and in in '84 found two great collaborators, an architect and a highly respected horticulturist. I was working in the City at the time, so this was to be my weekend house. When Charlie, the architect saw my house, a cheap old thing from the mid-1930s, standing on hard pan , he said, "This is Broccoli Hall."
How could he not see my dream? I already had envisioned it!
Tim Steinhoff, horticulturist took to the challenge and stayed on board for two years. i knew what I wanted but not how to do it! (Kind of like my koi hobby )
Check it out at the beginning, when i had huge dreams and felt unstoppable.
