      Parasite problem

One of my scaleless fish developed this irritation in a weird worm like pattern over the last several days. none of the other 18 fish are affected. I had initially identified what I thought was sapraglenia (see pic below) and treated with Proform C x 3 days followed by many continued water changes and Ultimate. 1 fish had eye infection and two had ulcers. They are better. I did not scrape and scope Lucy as her skin is very inflamed and whatever it is looks embedded under the skin.

All water quality parameters are perfect.

      Any ideas?

I’ve had those on my koi before it quickly grew into an ulcer. *♂️
Wonder if there’s anything I can put in pond periodically to prevent diseases and parasites

There are several possibilities, but first things first. Can you give us some actual numbers from drop type test kits for ammonia, nitrite, pH, KH, nitrate, and temperature? It appears that there are possibly pulled scales causing the problem or scales with infection under the scale. For infections, I like to have Tricide Neo on hand. If you decide to treat, ask for directions, do not follow label instructions unless you want to pay 8 or 10 times as much. The one gallon size packet is large enough for any fish. You can also treat the pond with with KoiZyme or AquaMedZyme to out compete the bad bacteria, other Zymes are not effective.

KoiZyme and AquMedZyme are both able to outcompete the aeromonas bacteria that is primarily responsible for ulcers.

Can you test for those bacteria or we can only react when we see symptoms
Or regular dosing for preventative measures?

I used both at different times as a prophylactic treatment, significantly reducing the frequency of infections.

Rich - would you also recommend Prazi or FlukeM, following Proform C treatments, in this case with ulcers present?

Proform C and BSDT are the same product sold by two different companies. You are fine using the BSDT.
