Do I have to use the rubber gaskets that came with the skimmer on either side of the liner when installing my pool skimmer to liner?
I want to make sure it is just the same as installing it in a pool.

Hold on.
Tomorrow I’ll find some pics for how I did mine.
PL sealant worked well for me.

Thanks guys! Hoping to install this weekend.
I have the PL roofing sealant that I used for the tpr’s and bd.
Yes, mine is a pool skimmer. I checked out the pond digger vids but he is using pond skimmers that don’t have the gaskets like the pool skimmers do. Do I put the PL between the gasket behind the liner only? Or also on the gasket before the faceplate as well?
I personally would put sealant on both sides. I don't see much downside for doing that. I put sealant on both sides when using bulkhead.
Which skimmer did you buy and how many gph do you expect to flow? I plan to buy this one but not sure how much flow I'll get.

hp.
I have the hayward skimmer, similar to the one you are planning to get. Probably 2000 gph? I modified it to a 4” outlet.
Can I use the PL roofing sealant on around the inside of the skimmer faceplate? Just for extra assurance against leaks? Or should I use 3m-2000 for this purpose? I’m thinking that if I seal there won’t be any chance of a leak anywhere.
It was tricky getting the gasket behind the liner to sit properly as it is so flimsy and kept on falling but I got it screwed on pretty tight in the end.
Sure, if you want to. The place where leaks would happen though is between the exterior part of the liner and the
skimmer. It doesn't really matter if it's a "pond" skimmer or a "pool" skimmer... as long as the pieces
fit the same, the same process will work. The Pond Digger video shows it well... he uses silicone but PL
would work the same:
Start from the beginning of the video to see the whole process.
