Pretty much everything you said mitch I agree. My friend had a mukashi at 14 inches and now 31 inches I'm 2 years. He uses 2 fishmate feeders and has a 10,500 gallon pond. He grows his tosai so much faster then me it isnt even funny. This year though I'll get my autofeeder going and get 12 tosai from kodama. I agree some fish are skittish and will feed mixed floating and sinking food. Some are just skittish. I got 50 one year but that was to much work. I'll limit to 24 at most and might setup a new tank for them. Just need more time to do stuff haha. Also just got some new lighting I'm trying out

Is this a new setup? If not, how do you get all the waste from the bottom of the tank with heavy tosai feeding?

Opps silly me. I'm just using a midwater intake on my 10 foot tank. The 300 gallon rubbermaid for the tosai has a tetra retrofit out the side of it. The gap is very small on it and I believe the tosai will be about 8 inches long. I really dont like the small size of the 300 but will do a flow through also.
