Are they just carps or a distant relative of Kois

      Hi All

I have 4 Kois and 2 these carps in my pond. I like to call them also Kois to make things simpler. So I have 6 Kois now

But I bought them from a local shop, they were so cheap (for that cost you will get a cup of tea in India). I personally selected them, took them with my hand from the shop aquarium as the shop keeper allowed me to do so. And it was may be the first time I am touching a living fish in my life. So I have a special attachment with them. First I had only these carps, then I added 4 Kois (costed me 500 times than these). The Kois immediately joined these 2 karps, and they live as a group now in harmony. Just finished 2 weeks of adding Kois today. If I google for carps, I do not get these kind of fish pictures. So are they also really Koi, a local one ?

      When I bought them :

From what I can see in the video, all 6 look like koi to me. Koi are of course a type of carp, just selectively bred for color, pattern and other characteristics that are pleasing to the eye. Even though these are not high quality koi, they all show substantial color and pattern, a strong indication that they came from koi spawns, even if the parents were not of high quality. They are quite energetic, and really going after the food. They seem to be doing well.
