Smile What's blooming in your yards this week?

      Hi Everyone,

What's blooming in your yards this week?

This is what I have blooming in mine. I love this vine, and have found that it is now irreplaceable...the city gardens where I first saw it no longer has theirs and the nursery I got it from is no longer in business.

no pics of most but some forsythia and lots of different types of Jonquils some perennial vinca and weeds lots of weeds. this clump of forsythia is planted in too shady of a spot and it has sprouted everywhere its limbs have touched the ground it has spread too over 15 foot in width and does not ever get watered or fertilized or cut back.

Yes, its a Dutchman's Pipevine. It attracts a black butterfly that has a yellow stripe on its lower wings. The caterpillars are black with red spikes, very cool looking. If I can find an old photo will post of the caterpillars. Have never been able to capture the butterflies on film though, they fly too fast.

The bloom smells like citronella and can be as big as my face at times! It is called this because it resembles the pipe of Sherlock Holmes from the side when it is folded and unopened. Its pretty cool.

Bing cherries are in full bloom

Persimmons and sweet seedless mandarin oranges are both almost ready to go

Weird that last year we didn’t get any fruits from the persimmons and mandarin oranges and this year looks like they’ll break their branches with fruits fingers crossed

Something new to admire in my garden this year. I planted these bulbs about 3-4 years ago and finally have a reliable crop that blooms around easter. This one is Gigantic...as big as my face compared to the others. Nice scent too.
