      Ultra sieve 3 level

      Hi
Can anyone give me advice on setting up an ultra sieve 3 with gravity feed please? What I'd like to know is does it matter if the top of the sieve is more than one centimetre above the level of the pond water? At the moment I could get mine set up at 4 cms above the water level. Is there a reason for having it just 1 cm above? What happens if the water level goes down further?
      Gerry

Welcome and thanks for joining Koiphen Gerald!

4cm should still be fine... it will just limit the travel of the weir a little bit since it's starting
out a little bit lower than necessary. But unless you're really pushing the 7900 gph flow
limit of the filter, I think you'll still be fine.

If I’m not mistaken my instructions say to install the top of the filter 1” above final water height 1 cm seems too low in case there’s heavy rain

Maximum water level to me means any rainfall would run to the overflow as opposed to
raising the level of the pond... but it does state 1cm:

"Make sure the UltraSieve is on an equal, level, underground. The upper edge of the UltraSieve must be 1 cm above the maximum water level. "

Thank you for that advice. I'll be a few weeks before I finish the paving surrounds and then I'll be able to see exactly where the level settles after leaving it for a few days. If I can get the sieve less than 4 cms above the water level I will do it.

Suggestion: Put an overflow port (bulkhead filtering) in the pond wall to prevent uncontrolled overflow of a pond. Do not ask a sieve or other filtration device to handle overflows. My overflow port puts water onto the concrete floor of my filter pit. The filter pit has a floor drain that feeds the storm sewer.
