Won't your divider plate stop the super oxygenation problem? The excess bubbles will be diverted to the reservoir and have time to go the surface?

Yes it should stop that problem but at the lower submergences there will not be much water in the reservoir.

The bubbles are impressive. I'm starting to think airlift setups should be pushing into bio filtration instead of at the end dumping into the pond.

Yes I agree with you. When I design for and airlift pond I always want to have the airlift either before the RDF if it is a flow through type of airlift manifold, and directly after the RDF so the water is aerated before the bio section. When the water is traveling through the airlift riser tube the water is trapped next to the air bubbles so maximum air exchange is possible. Compare that to an air diffuser on top of a bottom drain where the water can move around outside of the air curtain.
