Save your money, these are over rated, as they should be used in a pond no bigger than 1,000 gallons. I have used these, many years ago, and they are not worth it.
people like to vehemently defend their purchases and find it incredulous that anything could be better

You can do much better for $1200. I’m sorry to say that those filters are way overpriced for what they are , and in My opinion , not very efficient . I’ve removed a few of them from ponds I’ve “fixed’ , and have never been able to give them away for free. I had to cut them up , and throw them away.
If You were dead set on that style of filtration, You could build something that same size , shape , volume using a $25 Home Depot tote , and a $20 55 gallon poly barrel, along with some bricks to hold it up. I would encourage You to DIY filtration with Our help . I will personally guide You through any DIY build over email and phone , if that helps persuade You.

Start by showing the area that You plan on placing filtration, with approx dimensions please . If You don’t have much space , and don’t mind spending the $1200 ish , a Zacci 16’’ sieve is about the most compact prefilter that You can get , in addition to being an incredible piece of equipment. There is a brand new one for sale if still available a couple days ago

I agree, too small for 2000 gallon pond.

feed bottom drain and skimmer (both are koi pond basics) to a sieve such as UltraSieve III or Cetus. Then pump through UV to a shower with ceramic media. You can DIY a shower or purchase one.

I would skip the vortex system as they never do a good job of mechanical separation of solids from the water column. Those designs were hot in the late 80s and early 90s before folks caught on to using barriers (sieve, RDF) for mechanical stage.

for a small pond Midi Sieve( smaller version of UltraSieve) works great and is less expensive .

Finally starting back on the Pond...we are determined to get it up and running this summer. Here is the end product we are currently going for. Any recommendations? Do we need two bottom drains? Currently 20'L x 12'W x 4'D ~7200 Gallons.
