I just realized I have been been over dosing with sechem prime i usually use a different water conditioner I probably have been overdosing by 3 ml per change I guess that’s possibly the problem too.

I bought fish medicine last week for internal parasites and external parasites I also have a bunch of other medications. I’ll try to get you those readings soon

But depending if you have high ammonia and nitrite, your chronic 'overdosing' could be the reason why your koi is still alive. Hence the need for those water parameter readings. I would add extra aeration for now. Did this koi alway have this 'chicken-breasted' shape or just recently? Does he ever close his mouth?

The waterfall from the aqua clear 110 seems to provide enough aeration. I did the ammonia test kit and nitrite test and it seems ammonia is either 8 which would obviously be bad or just completely wrong it kinda looks dark green but not really it sure seems like it’s dark blue hears some pic

Yikes that is high ammonia reading! Do a 30% water change with your usual 4ml/10g of prime for now. For proper dosing of Prime to protect your koi from ammonia and nitrite, what are the dimensions of your tank? Again please provide a picture of the whole tank (take a few step back and take a picture). How long has he been losing colour?

Okay I’ll take a picture of the tank so that’s dark green not blue? He’s been this color for a long time really i haven’t noticed any loss in color I will be changing a lot of water like you said. It’s a 150 gallon tall fish tank I don’t ha r the dimensions in front of me but I’ll give them soon.

Great job on getting what is looks like api freshwater test kit. I hope it includes the "high range" ph.
If not this is what you need.
You will also need an api KH test kit (sold separately)

Yeah I was just wondering whether this kit was new or old. Check the expiry date?

Ok great. Not a huge emergency because as you said he’s been like this for weeks. Prime is your best friend atm. You might want to consider seachem Safe which is a powder form of Prime. Treats a lot of water cheaper. Good night.

The kh is old and everything else is old except I bought a new ammonia test kit I changed 30 gallons 5 gallons at a time there was a lot of poop in the fluval intake that I didn’t notice. I’m going to do 15 more gallons in a couple hours.

Prime is emergency temporary relief. It binds and doesn't remove anything from the water. It is not a solution or a fix and the bound chemical must be converted by biological filtration or it can convert back. Water change to remove high levels.

I know that it’s temporary relief like I have been saying I have been changing water every day and using prime.

You might test your tap water your using to do water changes just to have a reference
of any ammonia you may be adding during those changes.
