      Let's put this in perspective:
      Here you have a guy who was well known to everyone posting his "Final Farewell" and took pains to mention quite a few individuals:

      He's literally leaving to die, he's in a foreign country, his wife left him and no one in this huge "Koiphen Family" that we're always talking about (just the other day again, as a matter of fact) got a contact number to keep in touch or even thought to mention him here until now. Yep, I stand by what I said. That's incredibly depressing.

      Blammo, wherever you are dude, I hope you're jammin' with the best of 'em and feeling no pain. Peace out bro. This one's for you. I know you loved it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqMKlBavXmg
      You are judging us.

      We can never judge the lives of others because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. Its one thing to feel that you are on the right path but its another to think that yours is the only path. Paulo Coelho

I hope he will be able to beat it again. This isn't the only thread.

      Doug said good bye his way, privately. If he has passed, he will always be remembered and will always be missed.
      I guess I just have a different perspective Nancy. For almost 10 years I was an Assistant Administrator of an Advanced Care Nursing Home. Almost without exception even the most cantankerous curmudgeon who claimed he didn't need anyone was glad of someone there to soothe his brow, hold his hand and whisper a final farewell there at the last.
      A time when I was in the hospital I said I didn't want visitors, I was in so much pain and looked so horrible with machines and stitches and tubes showing, and yet I lay there feeling so alone. We say one thing but the human spirit calls out for comfort from another. We don't even let our dog or cat go off to curl up and die alone. The thought of such a desolate death utterly floors me. I guess I have too much empathy. My bad.

      I agree with Candy.
      Blammo came Here to say goodbye , and only a few People replied to Him. I’m as guilty as Anyone else , as I didn’t reply at the time, and I regret it now. I consider most of the People on Here as Friends ,whether We’ve met or not, and We can Allways do a better job at Being Friends. I’m not Here just for the Koi .

      That is being judgmental. Did you beat yourself up before this thread? Let go. We are who we are. I refuse feeling guilty in regards to Blammo and well not let this poster do so. Many here have different opinions based on who we are.

      Doug and I were friends for 12-13 years and I probably knew him better than most anyone here. He was a very unique individual. I sent a few emails after reading his good-bye posts but they were not answered. I think he was very, very sick at that time. It appears that he made peace with His Creator and was saying goodbye to his friends. No need for any guilt feelings for anyone.

      Never met him but could tell from the humor and wit in his posts he was quite the character. Very sad last post. Appears he had a good life in Costa Rica. Looks like the estate sold (maybe resold recently) . I e-mailed a realtor and asked if they had any details on his status.

      When I consider every thing that grows
      Holds in perfection but a little moment,
      That this huge stage presenteth nought but shows
      Whereon the stars in secret influence comment;
      When I perceive that men as plants increase,
      Cheered and checked even by the self-same sky,
      Vaunt in their youthful sap, at height decrease,
      And wear their brave state out of memory;
      Then the conceit of this inconstant stay
      Sets you most rich in youth before my sight,
      Where wasteful Time debateth with decay
      To change your day of youth to sullied night,
      And all in war with Time for love of you,
      As he takes from you, I engraft you new.

      Which one is Blammo in the pictures?

      And what was he like?

      His way of posting always seemed so crazy, I always wondered if he was tripping when he posted.

      Doug is the man on the end on the left side of the first pic. Laying on the steps, standing in the pond and with Stephen.

      He lived in Miami and had a fish farm. Move to Costa Rica about 10 years or so I think.

      Been out of the states for many years there isn't much of a digital footprint. Plus what happens in Costa Rica stays in Costa Rica.
