FYI Petco notes they will carry on the F&S brands and offer them on the Petco site after the shut down. Which of the brands is what will be up for debate. I have asked about Blackwater Koi food and they are looking into it.

Petco got back to me today, they will not be carrying Blackwater foods.

It will be interesting to see if the new Dr F&S will be as aggressive on sales and promotions as the old. Plus I wonder if the number of different items offered will shrink. They have been clearing out a lot of items at low clearance prices for the past few months.

Current 15% off sale ends the 11th and the warehouse I believe closes the 16th. I am curious as to what goes out the last few days and what deals there are last minute to avoid transferring stuff they don't plan to carry at Petco.

I think the unfortunate aspect is many people used F&S brands or Blackwater on feeding. The price was good on F&S while the Blackwater food was a stable price that beat out everyone due to the volume they purchased, and of course sales made it better. A 40lb bag of Gold N was 140 and change and could drop down to 115 with a good sale. Other places buying less volume are selling at $180-$290 with is a pretty heafty jump. Hopefully the brands or buying power stays with Petco and the F&S site is run like normal with Petco being behind it. If not then hopefully someone else can get good volume pricing and offer stuff out.

Wow you guys pay that much for Koi food!

The fish species I raise it runs in the 30.00 to $40.00 range for a 50 lb. bag. I use a band from Purina Mills called Aquamax or a brand that ships to my door 40 lbs. for $50.00 from South Dakota by the name of Optimal. The Optimal is the best of the two IMHO. But the Aquamax I can get locally if I order a week head of time.
