      Omosako Kaminari(NEW VARIETY)

Another auction winning from Narita Koi Farm from a while back.
This is a new variety called Kaminari(lightening) produced by Omosako Koi Farm.

I only own 3 of them but what do you all think?
To be honest, I told Takahiro that I don't think this will do too well in the US market and probably better left for UK or South East Asian hobbyists.

Are they just metallic GR fish? Or a metallic GR matsuba?

I would pass on all of them personally, just not something that draws me in.

For a variety to have so many variations, I think is confusing. Not sure what the primary attribute of this variety is, but if it's a ginrin ogon with or without pattern, then there are several overlaps with existing varieties.

To me, the samples above look like various ginrin metallic mutts. LOL

      Not my cup of tea...

My opinion is that these look a bit to unrefined to spike interest in many kichi. They look like an unpolished mixture of chagoi, kujaku, ochiba, and mukashi.... But what is apparent to me with these examples is that they are pretty much all strong bodied fish that seem like they will easily grow well.

There's a wonderful word I learned here to describe these: crapgoi.

Reminds me of what we used to call ”Ghost”.
Looks a little bit ”dirty”. I would like them more clean.
But yes i wanna try one anyway if possible to get one of them for free.
      Ogon and matsuba oyagois?

The first one reminds me of a couple of $15 dirty kujaku that I once picked up at a landscaping supply store.

You guys are harsh! But I did post in the serious critique section didn't I?
I'll forward your words to Omosako-san but don't blame me if the US market doesn't receive any Shiro Utsuri this year lol

But I agree there are way too many variants with this Kaminari at the moment and will need refining if they decide to pursue it

Does nothing for me ….but could grow on me would depend on the finished shape and pattern with a gin rin.
