      Bottom drain

      Was looking for some ideas on wintizing bottom drain the valve at bottom is leaking when shut off was wondering if there is a heater I could put inside pipe to keep it from freezing

      The only thing you would see is 4inch pipe sticking out of ground shut off valve is 7 feet down usually would blow air in and shut valve for winter but this year it leaking

      Where are you concerned about the freezing? According to the US Frostline Map, it doesn't freeze that deep in PA

      So if you blow the line out again and plug or cap the line above ground the air pressure will hold the water level down in the pipe , a few feet or more easy

      Tried that the valve will not hold air it is leaking water level is about 18 inches underground right now will try aquarium heater there is about six feet of vertical pipe underground

      Depending on plumbing layout a test ball and extension might work.

      So all you did was install a rubber plug and drained out the water in the line?

      Yes installed plug at bottom of line and drained it
