Talking Best koi fish for beginners and are eggs possible to buy?

Hi I'm currently looking to buy koi fish to raise as a part of my SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) project for my Sustainable Agriculture Production class, i was wondering what would be some good tips for starting out and what the best stage (like fry or adult, juvenile etc.) of koi fish to start out with for a beginner like me as well as if it's actually possible to buy fertilized koi eggs

I would recommend since you're a beginner to get in touch with a local koi club, there you would be able to receive direct information from the club member's including a visit to observe a few ponds and the filters giving you a clearer understanding as to in what direction you would like to go

I would definitely do that, but when i do look up local koi clubs in my area it only pulls up 2 in the entire state none of which look as though they're still up and running :/

Welcome and thanks for joining Koiphen!
I'm not sure exactly where you're located but here's one to try:

      Piedmont Koi and Watergarden Society

This one looks to be more active on FB rather than a website so might be worth trying to contact them there:

North Carolina Koi and Watergarden Society

Hope you're not in the path of Florence but if so, stay safe!
