      Amaryllis

I collected some seed from an unidentified orange Hippeastrum, I want to germinate them, as practice growing amaryllid seedlings. I have two other species I hope to cross this fall/winter for the fun of it....a red species Hippeastrum aulicum robustum, and a mini Brazilian species with stripped leaves..Hippeastrum reticulatum var. stratifolium.

Does anyone have any experience/advice on how to sprout and grow the seed?

my neighbor used too harvest hers and then just put them in the pot with the parents and broadcast them over the potting soil and then slightly cover
