Donating this nice boy to ZNA. The main reason was that he is a nervous male in my pond. The skin, sumi and pattern look to have good potential.

ill post mine here so people don't have to hunt to compare. I was going to move it and lost another larger koi to a tumor so kept it. Seems koi didn't respond. Likely will move it in the spring unless the sumi decides to surprise me
here was the tosai pick from 2016, top tosai
SU sumi can take a long time to develop. What is seen on tosai can be just a preview. It is not unusual for sumi to go down than takes another five years to resurface.
My biggest gripe about SU is not its potentially long development time. It is relatively difficult to find a SU with strong body and conformation without paying an arm and leg.

Update: Five years later, sumi never showed up, and only keeps going down I have lost my patience so this fish is up for rehoming
I moved mine to the farm pond last month. Looked about the same, maybe a little larger, but much smaller than a younger Omosako SU. I still have two other kobayashi Showa from 2016, but the shiro is gone. It was small and no more patience for sumi
