To continue my Dr Moreau mood...I had 2 scions? left...and rafted 1 to a plum tree and the other to a persimmon tree.
I doubt that any of this will work however I wanted to try to save the tree.

And yes, that is electrical tape.
I tried the rubberband method but between my fat fingers and those tiny branches, I couldn't get it to work

The one might take too the persimmon but I am not sure about the plum species so far apart. t could happen though. I had a friend bring me a grape vine that had hickory nuts on it. I am serious. the grape vine grew up in the fork of the tree and got cut off from the roots and the first few feet were hickory nuts on the vine and then changed too grapes a foot or so away. I would not have believed it if I had not seen in with my own eyes

You should have your soil tested. This way you will know what your soil Ph is and if you need to add anything. Blueberries are not a good choice for your location, they require a Ph of around 4 to 4.5. They grow great in S. Jersey but not where you are.

The Pawpaws are good in jam and bread. My persimmons are astringent. Sucks the moisture out of your mouth. Never been edible. They grew at the farm. My blackberries I shared with neighbors and friends. Trying to watch my sugar so no cobblers

Took me years to find pawpaw. Then bought a way overpriced one when I finally did find one, $80!
Later, found a local with $10 trees, bought 4.
Hoping to plant next year. No idea what it tastes like and if I'll like it, but as well.
The black round pot is the $$$ tree, others the $ ones.

Nice find. Some neat facts. Only flies pollinate Pawpaws. If you crunch a leaf, it smells like green peppers

We'll put this one in the loss column. Storms took out both "twigs". Last time I checked one may still be it appears to be the root stock.
