      Asagi x Goshiki

      Hi All,

I had a spawn yesterday an am interested on peoples thought on this pairing as a friend of mine indicated this could be a good match to get Hi Plate on Asagi to a deeper red,
An anther has said its a waste,
Would appreciate any info on what could happen (if anyone has paired this before) and what would you mainly cull for Asagi only or try to look for pattern of kohaku which will turn into Goshiki ?[ATTACH=CName: IMG_0878-2.jpg

Good looking parents Steve ... and lots of golden eggs! As you may recall, I've had an interest in crossing asagi with goromo (but have not done it), which is somewhat similar to what you are doing.

Just an uneducated hunch, but I'd keep watching any of either type that look like they may have potential, and mainly just cull the deformed or weak/skinny for a while. I also wonder if you could get anything really unusual, like a hi kohaku pattern on a blue background. In any case, I look forward to seeing what they look like as they progress.

No Koi imports allowed into Aus.

I presume the parents are local yokels, born and bred?

I like the pattern on that goshiki in the second photo and the build on a couple of those robust little asagi.
