Sorry if I missed it, but I wasn't able to find any info about how many tests the kit or the refills would do. Can you point me to that information?

That's very helpful. Thanks! Can you tell me how many times I can test a given parameter before I need to reorder the refills? I'm trying to get an idea of how expensive it is on an ongoing basis to have this convenience, accuracy, and record keeping.

I havee been using their photometers for years. When I got the 7+ it was the best fit for ponds. The ammonia test didn't meet their quality standards and the eliminated the reagent strips for that. The company made me a deal that I couldn't resist on the 8 just for the ammonia testing, though it will do some of the other tests, but I can accomplish all of the others on the 7+ within the time it takes to run the ammonia on the 8. If I didn't already have the other photometers, I would be looking at this very seriously.

      I have both 7+ and the idip 570. I haven't used the 570 yet.

AHA! So that was what happened! Every time I tried to reorder the ammonia strips they would send me ammonia strips with a new number on it and they did not work. For a while I could call the company and talk to somebody who would send the original strips. Nobody mentioned that those failed quality testing! And nobody offered a deal to me.
A lot of us ordered the 7+. I thought I was getting more accurate results than i could eyeball with the liquid drip tests. I guess not!
So how long does it take to run the ammonia one, Rich?

I think it takes about 8 or 9 minutes. If I remember right the countdown timer on the 8 counts from 500 to zero in seconds. Of course the pH and KH are instant read, and the only other test that I run routinely is nitrite, which takes about 4 minutes.
